Texas Insight’s Recent Reports
- HHSC: Hospital Payment Advisory Committee: The Hospital Payment Advisory Committee, a sub-committee of the Medical Care Advisory Committee (MCAC), advises MCAC and HHS about hospital reimbursement methodologies for inpatient hospital prospective payment and on adjustments for disproportionate share hospitals. The committee advises HHSC to ensure reasonable, adequate, and equitable payments to hospital providers and to address the essential role of rural hospitals.
- HHSC: Healthcare Safety Advisory Committee: An Advisory Panel was created in 2007 to help guide the state’s Healthcare Safety public reporting program. This program requires certain hospitals and day surgery centers to report harmful events and infections that patients get in their care. Over the years, the program has grown and the panel has changed with it. In 2017, the Advisory Panel changed to an Advisory Committee with the same duties to guide the program.
