HHSC: Texas Diabetes Council
Texas Diabetes Council addresses issues affecting people with diabetes in Texas and advises the Texas Legislature on legislation that is needed to develop and maintain a statewide system of quality education services for all people with diabetes and health care professionals who offer diabetes treatment and education. Council members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Texas Senate. They serve staggered, six-year terms, with the terms of three members expiring Feb. 1 of each odd-numbered year.

San Antonio Diabetes Collaborative. Staff and members of the Collaborative made the presentation. They stated that they received 5 million dollars to establish the institute, and the collaborative was funded through the DSRIP funds.
