HHSC: Texas Autism Council
The Texas Autism Council advises and makes recommendations to the HHSC executive commissioner to ensure that the needs of persons of all ages with autism spectrum disorder and their families are addressed and that all available resources are coordinated to meet those needs.
Welcome and Introductions. The Chair convened the meeting. There was some discussion regarding whether or not to meet before the scheduled December meeting to discuss the dissolution of the Council. (Slated for December 31, 2019.) No final decision was made on this recommendation, but more information will be forthcoming.
Approval of the January 22, 2019, meeting minutes. The minutes were approved with minor modifications.
Review and approve the Texas Autism Council Report to the Executive Commissioner [here]. The Chair opened the room up to discussion. There was consensus that the report is very well done and achieves the goals of the Council.
