The Medical Care Advisory Committee is a federally mandated committee that reviews and makes recommendations to the state Medicaid director on proposed rules that involve Medicaid policy or affect Medicaid-funded programs. 1. Welcome, introductions, and opening remarks. The meeting was convened by Colleen Horton, Chair, on February 13, 2020. A quorum was established. 2. Approval of November 7, 2019, meeting minutes. The minutes were approved as written. 3. Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program activities. Stephanie Muth made the presentation. There were personnel updates, including Emily Zalkovsky who is rejoining HHSC. They have also launched a new internship program (12 interns). A recruiter is working to find a new State Medicaid Director once Ms. Muth leaves in May of 2020. The MOM (The Maternal Opioid Misuse Model) grant has been awarded for $750,000 for women with substance use disorders. A total of five million will be available for five years
