HHSC: Medical Care Advisory Committee

The Medical Care Advisory Committee is a federally mandated committee that reviews and makes recommendations to the state Medicaid director on proposed rules that involve Medicaid policy or affect Medicaid-funded programs. Welcome, introductions, and opening remarks. The meeting was convened by the Chair, Colleen Horton. The Chair stated that there were some new members added to the committee. A quorum was present. The Chair voiced her concern that there is only one action item, diminishing the Committee’s ability to provide feedback. Approval of February 14, 2019, and June 13, 2019, meeting minutes. Mr. Walsh stated that the quality of the minutes have deteriorated over time. HHSC stated that the minutes are shared with the Chair in advance of the meeting and subsequent approval.
