HHSC: Medical Care Advisory Committee
The Medical Care Advisory Committee is a federally mandated committee that reviews and makes recommendations to the state Medicaid director on proposed rules that involve Medicaid policy or affect Medicaid-funded programs.

Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program activities. Jennie Costilow and Trey Wood, HHSC.
Ms. Costilow discussed the events of the legislative session. The Governor has until June 16th to veto bills. There were a lot of amendments added during the session, and it’s a good idea for us to talk about themes. (See end of report for specific bills.):
Strengthen Managed Care and operations oversight;
Streamlining grievance and complaint processes;

STAR Kids and MDCP (streamlining the assessment);
