Welcome and Opening Remarks. The meeting was convened by the Executive Commissioner. Exceptional Item Request Development and Legislative Appropriations Request Timeline, and Stakeholder Feedback Requests. Trey Wood made the presentation. HHSC has begun the process of developing their budget request for the 2022-23 biennium. Last month, we kicked off this process by distributing internally the templates and timelines for the development of Exceptional Items. Requests for items for inclusion were sent out to stakeholders and suggestions may be sent to CFOstakeholderfeedback@hhsc.state.tx.us. The account will remain open until November 22, 2019. Last biennium there were 450 recommendations. Flu Season. Dr. Hellerstedt stated that the season starts September 29th and it is starting relatively slowly. We are seeing an unusual predominance of Influenza Type B. There has been one pediatric influenza death so far. The influenza vaccine is not perfect, but it is worth getting vaccinated
