Newborn Screening Advisory Committee advises the Department of State Health Services regarding strategic planning, policy, rules, and services related to newborn screening. The committee membership does not appear to be correct but was taken from the DSHS website. 1. Call to order, roll call, and welcoming remarks. The meeting was convened by Khrystal Davis. A quorum was present. 2. Consideration of July 8, 2022, October 24, 2022, March 24, 2023, and July 28, 2023, draft meeting minutes. The minutes were approved as presented. The minutes for July 28th were tabled. 3. Presiding officer election. Presiding officer term review—review of the terms was provided Election procedure adoption—The standard election procedure was described and adopted. Chair election—Melissa Frei-Jones was elected Chair. Vice-Chair election—Tiffany McKee-Garrett was elected vice chair. 4.
